Sibling Spats

Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air and saying, "Can't you all just get along!?"
Some days there is no contention whatsoever and it is like a magical veil of happiness has covered the entire house. But most days, as soon as the three older kids get home from school, there is a constant buzz of arguing and whining in the background with the occasional high pitched scream and crying. What is most shocking is how quickly the peace I felt all day long is shattered. Throughout the day Branson and I don't bicker and argue. We get along. We share. We play. We have quiet time. I know how I feel about our calming day coming to a complete halt...How do you feel Branson?

  4. I can SO relate to this Amy. Shawn and Courtney were such a complete joy for me. And even though they were sweet, happy and well behaved, I know that the biggest difference was that I had finally grown up enough to be the kind of mom I had always wanted to be.

  6. It is probably just one of those days nothing seems to fit and work and you just don’t know why…

  8. Just throw me a striped shirt and a whistle because all I am around here is a referee! I'm still waiting for a few of those magical getting-along days. ;)

  9. I agree with Branson!!
It is SO frustrating. I feel your pain. I'm getting tired of being referee. I told my kids the other day, that whenever I have to break up a spat from now on, they're going to have to drop and give me twenty. We'll see how that works. Either I'll have peace and quiet at last, or very slim and trim kids.

  10. So funny!

I feed the squirrels peanuts in the shell, dried corn on the cob, and wild bird seed for woodpeckers. Those are their favorites. They actually love all nuts too.
