Today was Take Your Kid to Work Day and since my kid's Dad has a suit and tie, meetings with parents, I'm bored out of my mind, job...they go spend a day at Grandpa Mathews' Auto Body Shop. This year Cayden got to share the day with his cousin Easton.
I always send the kids with my spare camera and I always enjoy their take on a day at Grandpa's Shop.
Photos by Cayden (age 11) and Easton (age 9)
Cayden "driving" a totalled car.

Ok... so this picture just cracked me up.

Ummmmm....I think we will have a little discussion about this one. Maybe a Family Home Evening lesson on the Word of Wisdom is in order.

So they actually did get some work done.

Ok, maybe not.

I think Uncle Max was a bit risky letting too cousins who are prone to goofing off wash up this rig...but very cool picture Cayden.

Very scary boys...blast us with your dangerous blow gun that isn't even hooked up to the air hose.
_________________________________________________________________
That's better...at least the spray gun shoots paint.

Every year Uncle Max or Uncle Ryan let my boys build something cool in the shop. It appears that this year's creation were metal initials.
Ahhhhh...that is why Cayden came home with a huge tear in his sweat pants. A metal sander will do that to you.

It's going to be hard to convince them to go back to school. :)
It looks like a boys dream to hang out there.
That's so awesome--what a great experience for those boys. I always wanted to participate in that day, but my parents always said no :)
Good call on sending them to Grandpa's shop. Boys with that kind of energy and creativity could be dangerous in a suit and tie job.
Their pictures along with your captions are a lot of fun.
This is so fun. I wonder why they don't do this at every school in Pasco? Tyler would love to go to work with Jack. Love the pictures and the commentary with them. Looks like it was a great time.
I very much enjoyed this post because I still remember the pictures of YOU sanding your mustang at the body shop. How fun for them!
How fun! Grandpa is so nice to have them over!
Looks like fun! And WOW. Cousin Landon looks so...grown up!
Would you believe that Brent's work actually did away with the take your child to work day, basically they said "you can't."
It wouldn't have been even remotely as exciting as Easton and Cayden's day anyway. Great pic's boys.
What fun pictures, some of them are really good! And I love all your captions, especially about the tear in the sweatpants, "a metal sander will do that to you." It cracked me up!
This post warmed my heart, put a smile on my face, and made me laugh. I loved it! Bill is so excited for next year when Macy gets to do it, and I can't wait for her take on Grandpa's shop. I love that the dads/uncles make it so fun for the kids. Great, great post.
that last snapshot is absolutely CHOICE!!! lol. yeah, mr. regan is one of my all-time favorites EVER! ...left leg...BROKEN! =) he's coming to spokane in june. i think we're going to go see him in person! should be a good time. bellingham june 25th, portland june 26th, spokane june 27th, yakima june 28th (which is a sunday!)...so, spokane it'll be i think.
Oh the eternal nature of young boys. I bet that if photographs were available in ancient times you would still have pictures of boys making their silly faces. It sure sounds like a fun day for all.
That is tooooo funny! Rin went with Scott and sat in the car! :) She said he took her to the motorcycle store just so she wouldn't be so bored! :) The boys looked like they had fun!
How fun for those boys. That was is so smart of you to send them with a camera. I am going to have to remember this for the Fathers and Sons...
Oh you asked me a couple of questions on my blog, and I never answered them.
I do like to go fishing with Dan, I do not fish really I just lay on the boat and read while he fishes. It is one of my most favorite dates. :)
We really do need to all go to dinner. Lets plan something soon. That would be fun!
I love it! They took some great photos....love the nose picking...lol
Wow! what a great time it looks like they had. Great job on the pics too.
What a fun day! And those are some great pictures Cayden took! I think he has your eye for photography :) Great post!
How fun is that! They used to do that here too. But for some reason they stopped along time ago..
Thanks for the advice on kindergaten. Charly is already 5, as of FEB. But I was thinking of putting Allie in kindergarten too to be there for Charly growing up. She won't be 5 until DEC. And after your comment I have thought long & hard & am not going to do it...
Thanks for being a friend & helping me...
Very cool! I bet the boys were in heaven there!
