Three criminals are in lock up. You need to find Jasper, a key witness to one of your crimes, but in order to locate him you need to know what gang Jasper belongs to. The three gangs in the area are: Bears, Bulldogs and Bats.
The Bears always tell the truth.
The Bulldogs always lie.
The Bats sometimes tell the truth but sometimes lie.
Your three ciminals, Sam, Ted and Joe each belong to a different gang and they have agreed to help you. You ask each of them two questions: What gang do you belong to? What gang does Jasper belong to?
1. Sam says:
I am not a Bear.
Jasper is a Bulldog.
2. Ted says:
I am not a Bulldog.
Jasper is a Bat.
3. Joe says:
I am not a Bat.
Jasper is a Bear.
What gang does Jasper belong to?

Oh the Things you Can do with a Subway Chair...
Whenever A Subway Restaurant gets remodeled Grandpa Cazier makes it home with some of the old benches. About 8 years ago he turned one into a front porch swing...
A year or so later he made several into benches for the play area
Last summer he kicked it up a notch and brought the whole set, table and all, to go next to our fire pit.
But this week Grandpa had Branson in mind when he brought home a bench built for one...one baby grandson that is...
Yes, that is a booster seat that has been bolted onto a Subway bench and attached to the swing set.
Branson Approved!

Doing the Can Can
MONDAY--
From sun up to sun down I was canning peaches.
I always forget that canning is such an all consuming, multi-step, sticky task.
It always takes hours and hours longer than I plan and the rest of the house becomes a nightmare.
Lucky for me John took the boys bow hunting (no meat in our empty freezer yet, dang it) and Sydney had McKenna Moon over to play.
With everyone else out of the way there was only Branson and he was well (sorry for this) just peachy.
He was such a good boy. He played, crawled around, took good naps and hardly made a fuss.
So on Monday he ate lots and lots of fresh peaches. And honestly I do not remember what my family even did for dinner, but they survived.
TUESDAY--
Well Tuesday was pretty much the same as Monday, except the older kids were in school. Branson ate a lot of fresh peaches, was a good boy and by early evening I had finished 8 boxes of peaches for the end result of 109 quart jars, 3 broken jars, and only 2 jars that didn't seal. We ordered pizza for dinner and the kitchen table was actually cleaned off enough to eat on.
WEDNESDAY--
The plan was to clean up the canning mess and attack the neglected house. I knew I wanted to can pears in a few days but after a trip to the farmers market all my purchased pears needed canned like yesterday.
So no harm done: the kitchen floor was already sticky from the peaches and everything was already out on the counters. A quick wash up and I was ready to start on the pears.
So Wednesday Branson ate a lot of fresh pears.
Yes Cayden I can see you...your mom wasn't born yesterday. By 8:30 Wednesday evening my 3 boxes of pears were done for a grand total of 41 jars. There was a burner now open for a quick dinner of Mac-n-Cheese, which is Branson's new favorite.
So the canning is done...until apples are ready for applesauce. Posted by Amy J. at 9:54 AM 19 comments

Logic Puzzle #1
Believe it or not I am moving full speed ahead, getting ready for Cub Scout Day Camp 2009. The theme is CSI: Cub Scout Investigation. I LOVE this theme. I am working a lot of ideas through my head right now and one thing that came to mind was having the boys solve mysteries, or logic puzzles. I need your help, especially my readers under the age of 15! Throughout the next few weeks I will post some "mysteries" or "crimes" and I want you all to see if you can solve them. Let me know if they were easy or hard, cool or dumb. I appreciate any feed back that I can get. Remember these are 8,9 and 10 year old boys that I am targeting.

August Moments
Yes these are all true.

Cayden 5th Grade with Mrs. Kuffel
This photo is blurry because I am laughing at Cayden's expense.
MRS. KUFFEL: Can I put my arm around you when your mom takes your picture? Can I give ya a big hug? Can I give you a kiss on the cheek?
Cayden wanted to crawl in a hole and die...but you gotta know Mrs. Kuffel and it was hilarious.
Anderson 7th grade at McLoughlin.
He is excited about his leadership class. He really enjoys public speaking and they will be doing a lot of that. He is in choir again and it is his favorite.
