A Few of the Reasons I love Digital Scrapbooking

I am completely hooked and here are just a few of the reasons why...

#1 NO MESS

#2 Free supplies on line, everyday. It's like a treasure hunt! I haven't paid a cent on supplies.

#3 I can print as I please...12x12, 8x8/Costco, Shutterfly/in a book, on photo paper...

#4 I can create one page with all 4 of my kids. I can print out one for each of them or just one for the family and since all my pages are saved they can print them out later if they want.

#4 One of my favorite things about digital scrapbooking is that I can take a page that I create (or a page that I get online) and change that page so that it works for four different layouts for each of my kids!

Branson's Page with my Dad

Anderson's Page with our dog Belle (if you want her you can have her...really)

Sydney's page playing chess with Cayden

Cayden's page playing chess with Sydney
#5 I am actually getting to spend time doing my hobby. I hadn't been able to scrapbook in years and I love it just as much as the day I started.
So yes, I said that I would never become a digital scrapbooker and I really don't mind saying that I was so very wrong!

Love those layouts!

And I love that your kids play chess. Growing up there was a family that I truly admired (two of my children are named after two of their's). Anyways, their children took chess lessons and I always thought it seemed so classy.

They are so cute! Do you go to a specific site or do you have a program on your computer for it? I have made myself a promise that as soon as I run out of scrapbook supplies - I do not buy anything new - then I can explore the realm of digital!

These are cool. You are gifted with your creativity for sure. I would love to do this but have no clue where to start! Maybe when we come over next time you could show me a few tricks. :)

Okay, I have questions. How much does it cost to print stuff out? Is it going to be more expensive in the long run? And, how hard is it to learn. I'd heard about digital scrapbooking. My sister-in-law did a free book online (some Oprah offer) and it turned out beautiful, but I'm sure it would have been very spendy if she'd had to pay for it. And, I take ALOT of pictures, so I'm always concerned about formats that limit how much I can put on a page.

I think I would enjoy digital scrap booking, but have no clue where to begin. Your layouts look great.

So do you use photoshop to do your digital scrapbooking? I know, I said I'd never do it, but its the BEST.

You need photoshop right? I want that software more than anything! I wish it wasn't close to 100 bucks.

Those are FABULOUS AMY! Maybe after this moving garbage is done I can enjoy this wonderful hobby again. I'm still taking pictures in the meantime.

I still can't believe I haven't started doing this yet. Great pages.

Your pages are simply delightful, Amy. I wish I had the gumption to do something like that. It's funny about the chess mention. On the Today show today, they were talking about what each of them do for family time. Merideth mentioned that they usually had a chess set, set up on one of their tables. Anne Curry, (in a moment I bet she would love to take back) blurted out "Your family plays CHESS??? I think Merideth was just a tiny bit offended, although she tried to laugh it off. It wasn't really even Anne's fault, in my opinion, Merideth usually does come off as a Ditz.

I'm also in LOOOOVVVVEEEE!! with it! I'm still trying to master Adobe, and I probably never will, but in the last 2 weeks alone I'm doing lots better. I've even been giving other people pointers-amazing!

here are a few more reasons you forgot:
-you can save all your hard work on a disk and tuck it away for safe keeping.
-change the colors of the elements to match perfectly with your pics.
-fading and blending pics
-keeping the kids out of your scrap stash
-you can do it while away from home if you have just your laptop.

yes, I'm very much obsessed as well.

Okay, I truly love this very much...My only question is: Do you print out the pages on your printer or do you send them to Costco or Shutterfly and they print them? If you do them on your printer you must getting special 12X12 paper right?
I am really interested in this so thank you for the post.

Oh Amy, this is for sure the way to go isn't it? I absolutely LOVE scrapbooking, but it costs so darn much, and takes a lot of time to get the supplies out and put them back. I haven't made the transition to digital scrapbooking and was just like you, I vowed never try it. However, after seeing your post, I definitely need to get into it. Your pages are so cute, it's amazing everything that can be done with this digital age were living in! Not to mention there is no clean up of small pieces of paper all over the carpet!

How is your migrane? Feeling better? I hope so..

Ok, so are you going to tell us all how you do it, or are you going to leave us hanging?

Or do we need to send 3 monthly installments of 19.95 to Cazier Corner? :)

Those are great! I need to learn how to do that. I love the idea of printing out multiple copies for each kid. Which site do you use?
