Why is it...

that all babies think kisses have to be given with a BIG open mouth?

that whenever the house is finally spotless I notice all my windows are filthy?

~
that I don't like oranges but I love the smell of an orange getting chewed up in the garbage disposal?

~

that you can picture exactly what a diaper is going to look like on the inside just by the smell?

~
that whenever the phone rings the kids are racing to beat one another to answer it, but when I am in the shower nobody picks it up?

~

that my boys have to wait for their dad to get home to get help with their 5th grade and 7th grade math homework?

~
that all my amazing photos are of Branson and the rest of the kids pictures are just so-so?
that on the day that I am most busy, most crazy, most stressed, I get thrown up on three times and end up doing all my work on the computer one handed with a sick little boy in my other free arm?
~

that I was able to get all my Christmas "Thank You" cards sent within a week of the Holiday's when last year they didn't go out until June...I kid you not.

~
that this picture is my absolute favorite?

I love it when you do posts like this. I like hearing about all the thoughts and realizations you have because many of them I have thought too!

You really do get a lot of amazing shots of Branson! Maybe something to do with the amount of time you spend with him to capture those moments?

I love your posts Amy and I agree with all you said. Those pictures of Anderson and Kayden are too funny. And my favorite family picture of us happens to be a snapshot of us at Kyle's baptism. What a coincidence. Oh, and the picture I use for me is the one you took of me and Sydney at her baptism. :) (do you happen to have that picture in color?)

I love that you have all these thoughts and questions. I always have all kinds of things like that rolling around in my head at any given time. I agree that your best pictures do tend to be of Branson, but I think you have also done some really incredible ones of the other kids too. Remember all those shots of your vacation to Canada? I loved all of those, and I especially loved all the neat effects you used on them.

That first picture cracks me up! I don't have any kids, but I will definitely remember the diaper smell bit for later years :)

Hi Amy-

I am glad you stopped by! You nailed it on the head with the "Why is it's!"

Plus I can absolutely relate to why you love that last picture, it's amazing and so its the one with your son and the grape! Are you by any chance doing Project 365?!?

Please don't be a stranger!!

It looks like Branson is trying to eat his head! I love the telephone one! So true. I think I was on the phone with you when you took that pic of Branson looking at your family picture. Oh, and I'm pretty sure you get such good ones of Branson and not your other kids because Branson is a cute baby and your other kids are, well, older and in that stage where they want to be funny for the camera, not cute.

the hanger picture is priceless! i remember bringing my mom hangers while she'd do laundry. she'd load 'em up and replace them back up my arms so i could deliver them to their proper destinations. occasionally when i was feeling too lazy and wanted to make it all in one trip both arms would be full almost to my shoulders and a few would be hung on my lower lip!!! lol. i'd get scolded, but i thought it was worth just getting it over with. =) great thoughts today.

Great post! I relate to so many of your 'why is it's'. and as for your photos of Branson...they all look like they should be winning awards of some sort. Maybe he should be a model.

You don't like oranges? Really!? I don't think I've ever met anyone who doesn't like oranges. And good luck with the computer, that is such a bummer!
