Date Night

So I know times change but when John and I were on our date last
Saturday night I was thinking how much it lacked creativity.

Our Senior year in high school we went to the Halloween Ball as
Julius Caesar and Cleopatra...

Later that year my best friend and I spent two entire days decorating her basement like a jungle...

We ate homemade pizza and watched Crocodile Dundee.

Our date last Saturday...

We are sitting outside of Subway eating sandwiches while drinking milkshakes from Sonic before heading to Wal-mart to get groceries.
~
I did think it was pretty cool that I could stand at our table and without even turning my head I could see all three of our date night locations.
~
John thought it was pretty cool that we got the milkshakes for .99 cents each and the Subs were from the $5 value menu.
~
OK so I guess we were a little creative.

You are so funny! This was such a hilarious post. I loved the current date night picture, John's mouth full and Branson asleep on the table. Times sure have changed, huh?

I love that you did this post exactly five minutes after we left your house tonight.

That's too funny Amy! We should totally have "theme" date nights to spice things up a bit. Mick and I try to go out every weekend and we usually end up at Target or Walmart too. Not very romantic. I love the pictures of your past dates (especially John's acid washed jeans). :)

Thank you for sharing those pictures! How fun to take a look back :)

Now about date night. You may have had Subway and Sonic before heading over to WalMart....but you still have me and Donald beat. I can't remember the last time that we had a date night. I really can't. The good news is that it's in the works. Hopefully this weekend!

Oh my goodness Amy, those pictures are awesome. Our last date included Sonic and Lowe's. At this point in my life I think Lowe's is very, very romantic. It means jobs are going to be accomplished.

I can't believe how cute you two are in those pics.

My heart skipped a beat of pure delight Amy. Loved this post. You 2 as adorable today as back in the Cleo era.

Those pictures are priceless and I love how you put it all together for us. You are so creative and fun.

Have a great week and love your man.

My goodness, I thought it was just me and Curtis that had "date nights" like this!! You have made me want to go back and check out all my pictures of high school dates.

Date nights for the Williams are usually frumpy jammies and movies in bed with something snack-wise from the cupboard, or if we are really feeling it, Curtis will make some of his nachos.....oh well!

Those are some great pictures...too funny! And I'm all about the 99 cent shakes, maybe we'll do that this week for date night :)

You know Amy, after more than 31 years of marital bliss, I honestly can't remember when our date nights turned into grocery shopping or McDonalds and then Walmart. But they did. And you know what I think? These everyday mundane activities go a long way towards making you both part of the same team. Romantic and really well planned dates are fun and certainly have their place. But to really be a cohesive couple it takes a lot of shared daily living to really make you as one.
